Bakery Food Bags: Introduction to Several Common Bag Shapes for Food Packaging
Three-side sealed bags have two side seams and one top seam, with the bottom edge formed by horizontally folding the film. These bags can be folded or unfolded, and when folded, they can stand upright on a shelf. A variation of the three-side sealed bag is to fold up the original bottom edge and seal it with adhesive, essentially creating a four-side sealed bag.

2. Baking Food Bags: Back-Sealed Bags
Back-sealed bags, also called pillow bags, have a back seam, a top seam, and a bottom seam, giving them a pillow-like shape. Many small food bags are often packaged in pillow-shaped bags. The back seam of a pillow bag forms a fin-like seal. In this structure, the inner layers of the film are sealed together, and the seam protrudes from the back of the sealed bag. Another sealing method is the overlapping seal, where the inner layer of one side is bonded to the outer layer of the other side, forming a flat seal. Because the "fin" seal is stronger and only requires heat sealing of the inner layer of the packaging material, it is widely used. However, the "overlapping" seal is relatively weaker, and both the inner and outer layers of the bag require heat-sealable material, so its application is not widespread. The top and bottom seals are formed by bonding the inner material of the bag.
3. Baking Food Bags: Gusset Sealed Bags
Gusset bags, also called folded bags or accordion bags, are a variation of back-sealed bags, with the sides of the bag folded into an M-shape. If the M-shape is asymmetrical, it is also called a trapezoidal gusset bag.
4. Baking Food Bags: Four-Side Sealed Bags
Four-side sealed bags are usually made by sealing the top, sides, and bottom edges of two (rolls) of material. Compared to the bags mentioned earlier, if they can be bonded together, four-side sealed bags can be made from two different plastic resin materials. Four-side sealed bags can be made into various shapes, such as heart-shaped or oval.
5. Baking Food Bags: Self-Sealing Zipper Bags
Bags with an easy-open zipper installed on the three-side sealed bag and the main bag.
6. Baking Food Bags: Stand-Up Pouches
There are many types of stand-up pouches, mainly including the following: ① Bottom-added boat-shaped stand-up pouch. ② Bottom-folded stand-up pouch. ③ Stand-up pouch heat-sealed with an oblique knife. ④ Bottle-shaped die-cut stand-up pouch. ⑤ Stand-up pouch with a mouth, divided into oblique-mouth stand-up pouch and top-lid stand-up pouch. ⑥ Pneumatic stand-up pouch.
7. Baking Food Bags: Irregularly Shaped Bags
Fruit shapes, cartoon shapes, etc.
8. Baking Food Bags: Bags with Handles
The shapes of the handles include triangles, butterflies, airplanes, circles, semicircles, and waist drums.
