From a safety perspective, packaging materials that directly contact food, such as plastic bags, are a concern. Due to the nature of frozen food bags and the transportation process, it is often difficult to ensure a consistently low temperature throughout the entire process. Especially during transfer and transport, the temperature of frozen food may rise significantly for a period of time.

1. Hygiene: From a safety perspective, packaging materials that directly contact food, such as plastic bags, should be considered. Because frozen food bags and the transportation process, it is often difficult to ensure that the entire process is maintained at a consistently low temperature, especially during transfer and transportation, which can easily lead to a significant rise in the temperature of frozen food for a period of time. If the materials are substandard, bacteria can easily grow. Packaging made from recycled or industrial-grade materials is not significantly different in appearance from packaging made from food-grade materials, but once used, it can cause great harm to human health due to excessive plasticizers and other substances.

Key Points to Note When Choosing Frozen Food Bags

2. Cold Resistance: frozen food bags They are usually stored and circulated at -18℃ or lower, especially some frozen foods with trays. During production, food and trays are usually quickly cooled to below -30℃ until the product temperature is below -18℃, and then packaged. When the temperature drops suddenly, the mechanical strength of the frozen food bag packaging material will also decrease, leading to frozen food bags material brittleness. Moreover, frozen food inevitably suffers from various environmental hazards such as impact, vibration, and pressure during transfer and transportation. In addition, frozen foods such as dumplings and wontons are relatively hard at low temperatures. This easily causes the packaging bag to crack and break. This requires the packaging material to have good low-temperature performance.

3. Impact Resistance: frozen food bags They are easily damaged by external forces during transportation, loading and unloading, and shelf placement. When the impact resistance of the packaging bag is poor, it is easy to break or tear the bag, which not only affects the appearance of the packaged product but also contaminates the food inside. The impact resistance of frozen food bags can be determined by a pendulum impact test.

Frozen food bags on the market can be mainly divided into single-layer packaging bags, composite packaging bags, and multilayer co-extruded packaging bags. Among them, single-layer frozen food packaging bags, namely simple PE bags, have poor barrier properties and are mostly used for fruit and vegetable packaging; composite soft plastics have relatively good moisture resistance, cold resistance, and puncture resistance; while multilayer co-extruded frozen food bags are produced by melting and extruding different functional raw materials such as PA, PE, PP, PET, and EVOH, and then blowing, shaping, cooling, and compounding them. They have excellent packaging properties such as high barrier, high strength, and high and low temperature resistance.
